 80% Internet users look for health information online

A study released in February this year on U.S. consumer internet use from the Pew Internet and American Life project,showed that eight-in-ten internet users look online for health information, making this the third most popular use of the internet behind email and search engine use.As only ~75% of U.S. adults use the internet, it means that 59% of adults are health-seekers. The most likely groups of people who look for such information online are white, non-hispanic, younger adults and those with higher incomes and levels of education.
